There are three (3) conditions that must be satisfied for a goal to be considered legitimate in UWH.

1) The puck must be propelled by or off a stick;
2) The puck must enter the goal volume (or box) completely;
3) The puck must make contact with the back or bottom of the goal’s trough;

Condition #1: Although this may seem obvious, the puck must be propelled into the goal from the stick of one of the game’s players.

Condition #2: The goal volume (or "box") is an invisible area that rises above the trough of the goal and measures 12cm deep x 18cm high x 3m long. The puck must enter this area completely before meeting this second condition. However, the fact that it has entered the goal volume does not by itself constitute a goal.

Condition #3: The goal must make contact with either the back or bottom of the goal’s frame which act as the back and bottom of the goal volume.

Now that all three conditions have been met, the referee can signal that a legitimate goal has been scored.
